An Introduction

Hello there!
Firstly, I suck at introductions. If I meet you for the first time, I will either stare blankly at you, or talk endlessly about ten thousand random subjects without actually saying anything.
You know that description of being like a swan, all calm & serene on the surface, frantic paddling underneath? I'm the opposite. I'm an upside down duck (take a moment to imagine that). Or a piece of driftwood.

Anyway, this is the blog for Axholme Licensed Tearoom in Crowle, North Lincolnshire. Never heard of it? Don't worry, no one has. I'm Jules, the co-owner. I make the cakes, breads, soups & preserves at the tearoom. The other owner is Mike, he makes the beer & coffee.

Here's what it looks like inside. Nice!
When not rattling on about crochet, books, music, arts, vegetables and the great Cthulhu rising up to play pick-up sticks with our femurs, I'll be posting recipes, news, events and lovely things that can be bought from us.
But Jules, some might say, isn't that poor business practice to give away your recipes? Surely people won't need to come into the tearoom if you've told them how to make stuff themselves? Bah! Says I, where's the fun in that?

  3. Good luck Jules and Mike at this new additional culinary adventure to compliment the brewery. If I am ever near, I will pay a visit for sure. it will be tremendous hard work, but you know that and it will be worth it, great to see you also incorporating cafe with crafts, great way to build a community hub too. Looking forward to your recipes and blogging Jules, you have been missed. By the way I made your beetroot seitan steaks last month. X
